ABOUT LOOMINOLOGY

Founded in 1943, an Anatolian farmer sold his land and devoted all his savings into the manufacturing and sales of carpets. He was also responsible for manufacturing and then exposing indigenous carpets from Central Anatolia to Istanbul. It is out of these beginnings, in another world and another time, in Anatolia that Loominology was born.

CRAFTSMANSHIP

Loominology endeavours to preserve its commitment to nurturing the time honoured methodology of carpet making, whilst promoting ecologically accountable and sustainable ways of quality production.

The Symmetrical Knot (Turkish knot), rooted in the
ancient Steppe, blends form and function for durability and craftsmanship. Loominology leads in preserving this labor-intensive, enduring weaving
technique.

The Asymmetrical Knot (Persian-Tibetan) offers
artistry and sophistication, originating in Persian villages and refined in royal courts. Known for its versatility in design and color, it continues to meet modern needs in both commercial and residential spaces.

VALUES

Loominology is actively involved in reviving and preserving the traditional processes of not only Turkish weaving but many seminal world wide carpet making practices, whilst promoting the use of naturally dyed and hand-spun wool and selected natural fibres.
